
About Sonni Pitts
Hardworking, compassionate, caring and people-centered are a few words to describe Sonni. Currently, serving as a Board-Certified Christian Counselor, Biblical Counselor and a Trauma Coach Practitioner with USF, Sonni is the owner of Heart and Home Community Inc., a non-profit organization focusing on empowering women to develop essential mental and emotional health strategies that foster healing and wholeness. Sonni also desires to bridge the gap between the faith based and mental health communities, by providing trainings and education to church leadership and congregations to equip and educate on the realness of mental health and how they can better serve those struggling with mental health through foundational principles of the Word of God.

This training aims to provide an intersectional perspective on mental health, specifically looking at how faith influences our understanding and experience of mental health.
The objectives of this training include:
- Identifying the ways in which faith can both positively and negatively impact mental health
- Examining religious texts and teachings for guidance on managing mental health
- Understanding how to provide faith-sensitive mental health support
- Recognizing the role of spiritual leaders in mental health advocacy
- Develop practical skills to respond to mental health struggles
