About Naomie Deborah Tilahun
My name is Naomie Deborah Tilahun and I have a Bipolar 1 diagnosis. I have been dealing with mental health issues since I was 18 years old. That makes it 17 years now. But I’ve learned not to define myself by my diagnosis.
I’m a blood bought believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and I work on spreading awareness about mental health, leadership and the Christian faith through my youth organization the Joshua Generation Movement. I have an Organizational Leadership degree from Azusa Pacific University and I’m working on publishing my first children’s book.
Though sometimes being mentally ill slows me down, I know that slow and steady wins the race. By God’s grace I Iive and breathe and my only goal is to hear the words, “Well done good and faithful servant” in the final hour. I Iive for his glory and his glory alone.

Acceptance of a Diagnosis vs. Identifying with a Diagnosis
My message is primarily about accepting a diagnosis versus identifying with a diagnosis. I learned through Fresh Hope that it’s ok to accept our diagnosis but we must always learn to identify with what scripture says about us. Ours is a difficult battle but I remind people that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. I also like to remind people that grace is available for every battle.
