Glimmering: Finding Micro-Moments of Joy in Our Daily Life
What if I told you, it is possible to find glimmers of grace in the possible grind of daily life? Would you believe me? I’m curious to hear your answer.
As a mental health professional, my private coaching practice focuses primarily on helping others take the tension out of trauma triggers. Recently, I discovered the need to balance that work with joy-building practices. I’m calling this practice, “Glimmering,” based off Deb Dana’s (LCSW) work with “glimmers.”
Glimmers are tiny micro-moments of joy that allow us to feel calm and give us a sense of inner peace. In this workshop, we discuss three big thoughts:
- The Polyvagal Theory and how it helps us find glimmers even during difficult days.
- The concept of “glimmers” vs “triggers.”
- The need for joy-building, especially during mental health work.
At the center of our big thoughts is possibly one of the biggest, found in 2 Corinthians 9:8, “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.” Notice the powerful placement of “all” in this verse. God’s promise is specifically for you. Begin your glimmering adventure today.
