Managing Strong Emotions

There aren’t good and bad emotions. Emotions were designed by God to help us survive and thrive. Yet, many of us ignore our emotional warning signals and end up breaking down on the side of the road.

As they say, “You can’t heal what you won’t feel.” But how can we face these powerful feelings without losing control?

The answer is that we can’t.

We can’t control our emotions, but we can control our response to those emotions. We can choose to let an emotion lead us down either a productive or destructive path. One path leads to freedom, forgiveness and faith. The other leads to blame, bitterness and bondage.
