Whatever the reason, it is important to find a way to calm that anxiety. Below are some helpful techniques to relax:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><b>Controlled Breathing*:&nbsp;<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span>Breathe in through your nose, out through your mouth.&nbsp; Breathe from your diaphragm, not your chest. It helps to stay focused if you think a word upon inhaling\/exhaling, such as peace\/calm.&nbsp; Also try counting 1-2-3-4 as you inhale, 1-2-3-4 as you hold your breath, and 1-2-3-4 as you exhale.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>2. &nbsp;Sounds\/Music*:&nbsp;<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span>Play relaxing music or calming sounds such as nature, ocean, or rain.&nbsp; Close your eyes and repeat a meaningful word or scripture.<\/span><b>&nbsp; <\/b><span>There are lots of videos on Youtube, channels on Pandora or Spotify full of inspirational and relaxing music.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>3. Do Something You Enjoy:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span>Take time to do something you enjoy, whether baking, painting, gardening, knitting, reading or whatever.&nbsp; Focusing your attention on doing something you enjoy or have enjoyed doing in the past, will help you clear your mind and ease anxiety.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>4.
